Amazing JP-208 (6'10") Platinum Pramberger for sale in Draper, Utah

$11,499

We love this piano. WHY WE BOUGHT THIS PIANOIt has a warmer, richer tone than any of the Kawais, Yamahas, or Bostons we considered, and compared very well to the used Steinways, Baldwins, and older Mason and Hamlins we looked at. It has a firm touch. A clear but not shrill tone, and the kind of bass you can only get in a 7-footer. It's satin black with bubinga accents. Piano Buyer says Platinum Pramberger series is comparable in quality to the Kawai RX/GX series, Boston grands (made by Kawai for Steinway & Sons), the Yamaha C/CX series, Seiler, or Wilhelm Schimmel. We spent over a year shopping and looked at hundreds of pianos (maybe a thousand?) and the only ones we considered that out performed this one was a 1998 Mason and Hamlin BB (that cost over twice as much) and a 9' Baldwin concert grand (that was going to cost us about 8k more). There simply wasn't anything even close to this price range that performed so well. New this piano lists for $44,250 (which doesn't mean much), but according to the pricing guides online is usually sells for $30,000 (which means a lot more). WHY WE ARE SELLINGI hate to sell it, but we just inhereted a Mason and Hamlin that has great sentimental value. Truth be told, I tried begging my wife to keep this Pramberger, but she thinks we don't need three pianos, (Especially since we only have one piano player.) I wish she wasn't right, because I'm going to miss hearing this creature sing and growl. ABOUT PRAMBERGEROf the Platinum Pramberger, Piano Buyer says:"In 1995 Young Chang employed the services of Joseph Pramberger, a highly respected piano-design engineer who had spent much of his professional career as an engineer and manufacturing executive at Steinway & Sons, to evaluate its piano designs and make improvements. The pianos that resulted from this process were known as the Pramberger Signature Series. The company also produced a completely new line of premium pianos designed by Pramberger with maple inner rim (grands), upgraded hammers and soundboard material, Renner action parts (grands), and exotic veneers...."The Pramberger name was used by Young Chang for its premium-level pianos under license from the late piano engineer Joseph Pramberger, who at one time was head of manufacturing at Steinway & Sons. When Pramberger died, in 2003, his estate terminated its relationship with Young Chang and signed up with Samick. However, since Young Chang still holds the rights to its piano designs, Samick has designed new pianos to go with the name. The J.P. Pramberger Platinum piano is a higher-end instrument."ABOUT THIS PIANOThis specific Pramberger was bought by a young couple in 2001 for $30,000. After a year or two, the young couple found they couldn't qualify for a home loan with this piano on their balance sheet, so they sold it to the young girl's father for the amount remaining on the loan. But here's the beautiful part: the young girl's father doesn't play the piano. So it was in climate-controlled, indoor storage for about a decade, until the father got sick of keeping it around and decided to sell it on consignment. It has very low miles. After we bought it last spring, we had it regulated and voiced by Keith Kopp, one of the state's premiere piano technicians, and it has been tuned every six months since. (We also keep our house at about 40% relative humidity, have covered all nearby heater vents, and control the windows so that it's never in direct sunlight.) Please call, text, or email if you have any questions or would like to play it.
